Leftovers: ‘Nika important - don’t throw away’
In 2011 I decided to move from Croatia to the Netherlands in order to study. After graduation in July 2017, I am planning to stay in the Netherlands. I am not the only one. Since 2011, around 150.000 young people left Croatia in search for better education and business opportunities.
Leftovers is my search for transnational relations in the life of individual migrants. After realizing I do not have a bed in Croatia to call my own, I began to wonder: How much are we still involved in lives of our families back home? How much are we actually gone?
